Big News...
Caren Sue Peet
is being honored in Washington DC on Capitol Hill on September 28th 2009 as
We used Caren for all three of our Home Studies. She is a true friend of our family and was there to celebrate each of our daughters' finalizations in court.
Congrats Caren :O)
Her letter of recommendation-
Ms. Peet is a Social Worker and assists in both international and domestic adoption. Prior to doing adoption work, she worked for a program that provided services for children of drug addicted parents.
Caren was diagnosed with Neurofibromatosis, a genetic disorders which cause tumors to grow along various types of nerves and, in addition, can affect the development of non-nervous tissues such as bones and skin. This condition can also cause developmental abnormalities. When Caren learned of her condition and what could happen to the children her and her husband planned to have, she chose to adopt. She has two children, her daughter from Guatemala, and her son, who was adopted domestically.
Because she was so inspired by her own experience in adopting children, she wanted to continue to help others with this process. Our office received 20 recommendations alone regarding Ms. Peet, telling of their adoption stories, and the support she offered through the process.
Ms. Peet also is a member of the Long Island Adoptive Parents Committee, Head Volunteer for Children of Hope Save Haven, and with coordinated efforts through the Long Island Adoptive Parents Committee, helps the running of Children’s Relief, whose efforts in collecting donated items from local companies and organizations to ship overseas to orphanages and group homes, as well as distributing them locally to foster care facilities and group homes.
It is very clear that Caren Sue Peet does amazing things for children in adoption, and it is for the reasons above that Ms. Peet be chosen as Angel in Adoptions nominee for the second Congressional district of New York.
